sports adventure body fat

To do this we need to take your total weight and subtract your fat weight.

There are several ways to do this –
There are many reliable pieces of equipment at gyms and health care centres that can help
or you can work out your own estimate.

As an guide to start with….
a fit male is around 15% body fat and a fit female is around 22% body fat.
a moderately fit male is around 22% body fat and a moderately fit female is around 30% body fat.

With this info you then multiply your body fat percentage by your total weight to get your fat weight and then you take this away from your total weight.

I’ll give you an example using my own measurements as a test case –

I weigh around 74 kilograms so I have say 15% body fat
so my fat weight is 15% of 74kg = 11.1kg
and my lean body mass is 73kg – 11.1kg = 62.9kg

Or you can use online body fat calculator to give you this information.

If you click here it will take you to one of these calculators

As you can see if you input the data into the fields it will give you a rough guide as to your percentage of body fat

Again using myself as an example using my own measurements as a test case –

I always find these things are best used as a guide only. So try not to get hung up on the results just use it as a bit of an indicator.
