Imagine…you are out with your mates on the weekend for an epic weekly mountain bike ride only to return back to your car to find your mobile phone missing. You and the guys have ridden for around 2 hours and covered around 15km’s so your phone could be anywhere!
You start to backtrack the trails you have ridden to try to find it, but’s its like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Well it can happen pretty easily and it did happen to me just the other weekend.
I went for a quick ride on my local trails and was having a blast of a time. I pulled over for a short while checked my phone and put it back in the pocket in shorts, instead of in my backpack. Then back out for a ride half an hour later check my pocket only to find my phone was missing.
I was so annoyed with myself.
I started to backtrack through all the trails I had ridden and also spoke to a couple of other riders about my loss. I continued my search scouring the trail metre by metre but with no luck.
Then I remembered, my wife and I both have Life360 family indicator apps on our phones. So I flew home grabbed her phone to check it. Luckily my battery wasn’t yet flat and it threw out a signal. I jumped into the car and drove near to the spot.
I walked up and down the area for about 5 minutes and found my phone hiding in long grass waiting on the side of the trail.
What a relief!
So not only is this app great for communicating with your family it is also fantastic for finding your phone.
Without it I’d be up for the cost of a new phone and all the setup headaches that goes with it.
So keep in touch and get out on the trails.
